Role Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada, your main responsibility is to foster a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the shopping experience for customers. By providing exceptional service and assisting with sales floor tasks, you help strengthen customer confidence and loyalty. People Greeters are friendly faces who connect with every shopper, reflecting Walmart’s core values in every interaction.

Key Duties

• Offer prompt, courteous, and professional greetings to customers entering and leaving the store, ensuring a positive first and final impression.
• Support loss prevention efforts by tagging returned merchandise, monitoring high-value purchases, verifying receipts when necessary, and reporting suspicious behavior or Code ADAM alerts to management or security personnel.
• Respond calmly and courteously to EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) alarms, investigate causes of false alarms, maintain accurate logs, and report any technical issues to management.
• Assist customers by providing necessary shopping tools like carts, baskets, and store flyers; give directions and collaborate with sales staff to help locate products and services.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free store environment by adhering to company policies and procedures consistently.
• Be flexible with work hours, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, to support store operations smoothly.

Work Environment Challenges

• Handle high task volumes efficiently in a fast-paced setting, especially during overnight shifts, managing energy and focus carefully.
• Complete large scale restocking and merchandise organization duties accurately within time requirements.
• Perform physically demanding tasks like standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 20 pounds regularly and sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Engage in repetitive tasks such as zoning, stocking, and product arranging with attention to detail to meet store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.05.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
