Position Overview
The People Consultant role is pivotal within NetApp's evolving HR framework, playing a key part in enhancing manager capabilities, improving employee experiences, and fostering a high-performance culture. This individual contributor position supports a global HR operating model to empower managerial decisions and employee outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide trusted advisory and coaching to managers and employees on sensitive workplace issues including performance management, conflict resolution, and company policies aligned with NetApp's culture and values.
- Support employee relations by addressing concerns that impact morale and culture without necessitating formal investigations, coordinating with legal teams when investigations conclude.
- Guide managers through underperformance situations, crafting documented coaching plans and performance improvement strategies that balance compliance, fairness, and business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with HR Operations to facilitate complex employee and manager requests through effective HR process execution.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives that support strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with multiple stakeholders, including employees, leaders, HR colleagues, and legal advisors.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in employee relations, HR generalist, or HR business partner roles.
- Strong competency in resolving complex and sensitive employment issues with sound recommendations.
- Expertise in employment law, standards, and best practices relevant to employee relations.
- Ability to balance legal compliance with business needs when advising diverse stakeholders.
- Effective influencing skills to achieve timely resolutions in delicate situations.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset, proven in building relationships across organizational levels.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills for high-impact situations.
- Advocate for a high-performance culture by reinforcing leadership accountability and clear talent standards.
