About the Company

The Payroll Specialist is tasked with overseeing the entire payroll process to ensure employees receive their correct payment promptly, while adhering to all relevant tax, labor, and statutory laws. This position also involves supporting HR functions such as maintaining employee data, managing benefits, generating payroll reports, and complying with company policies and employment legislation.

Role Overview

Responsible for handling all aspects of payroll management, the role requires accurate salary processing and strict observance of legal and statutory payroll requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the complete payroll cycle for all employees, ensuring payments are timely and precise.
  • Execute monthly payroll activities including salaries, overtime, commissions, bonuses, allowances, deductions, leave pay, terminal benefits, and mandatory statutory contributions.
  • Accurately calculate and submit statutory payroll deductions within set deadlines.
  • Verify payroll inputs to guarantee correctness before payroll runs.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and address any discrepancies promptly.
  • Calculate and process end-of-service payments such as leave encashment, gratuity, severance, and notice pay in compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Maintain confidential payroll records securely.
  • Assist with statutory audits and respond to compliance queries effectively.
  • Keep employee information updated in HR and payroll systems.
  • Manage employee benefits administration and related payroll deductions.
  • Generate employment verification documents including payslips.
  • Support HR compliance and documentation processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are advantageous.
  • Membership in recognized professional bodies is preferred.
  • Between 4 and 6 years of hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll in medium to large organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in submitting statutory deductions and compiling payroll reconciliations.
  • Proficient with payroll software and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Experience assisting HR with administrative functions.

Preferred Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation and statutory compliance.
  • Advanced capability in payroll software and HR information systems.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting.
  • Strong skills in payroll reconciliation and payroll reporting.
  • Well-versed in employment and labor laws.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
