About the Role and Company

A leading global logistics company with an extensive network of tank container and logistics services in the UK is hiring a Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team. This permanent hybrid role is based in Manchester, requiring 2-3 days a week presence onsite, with flexibility according to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete end-to-end payroll processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform manual payroll calculations, including statutory payments and necessary deductions.
  • Handle payroll changes such as onboarding new hires, processing departures, and updating payroll records.
  • Ensure strict compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC standards.
  • Reconcile payroll data and resolve any inconsistencies promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to maintain precise employee information.
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll efficiently.
  • Assist with year-end payroll functions and reporting obligations.
  • Proactively identify improvements to payroll processes and system enhancements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience handling full payroll cycles.
  • Proficient with Dayforce or Ceridian payroll software.
  • Solid understanding of UK-specific payroll legislation and HMRC regulations.
  • Confident in performing manual payroll calculations accurately.
  • Exceptional attention to detail along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experienced user of payroll management systems.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession or pursuit of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification is advantageous.
