Position Overview
We invite you to join our People & Culture team in Hamburg, working remotely with flexible hours (minimum 30 hours weekly). The role is permanent and part-time or full-time options are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage the timely preparation, execution, and review of monthly payroll processes using SAP HCM.
- Evaluate complex wage tax and social security regulations, providing reliable internal counsel on related matters.
- Oversee correct accounting of taxable benefits, company perks, and variable compensation components.
- Conduct and manage payroll tax flat-rate assessments autonomously.
- Serve as a dependable contact regarding employee benefits and contribute to developing the compensation framework.
- Handle data entry and verification of personnel master data within SAP HCM and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
- Ensure compliance with statutory information, certification, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the finance department on account reconciliations and completing monthly and annual closing tasks.
- Prepare and actively support wage tax and social insurance audits.
- Act as a reliable liaison for external entities such as health insurers, tax offices, and social security agencies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship, business administration degree, or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated professional experience in payroll accounting with SAP HCM and strong subject matter expertise.
- Up-to-date and thorough knowledge of German wage tax and social security laws, including flat-rate payroll taxation.
- Experience assessing legal implications of benefits in kind, taxable advantages, company supplements, and variable pay components such as bonuses and commissions.
- Preferably familiar with compensation and benefits model frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and a strong team player.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and service-focused work approach.
- Excellent communication skills, flexibility, organizational ability, plus a passion for sustainability.
- Fluent in both English and German, spoken and written.
