Job Overview

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its expanding Outsourced Payroll Team in Cork. The role entails managing comprehensive payroll processes for multiple clients, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional client service. This position demands strong payroll knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to handle various client deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer payroll processing for clients on weekly, fortnightly, and monthly schedules.
  • Coordinate the collection and preparation of payroll data for all employees.
  • Execute payroll runs, prepare required documentation, and maintain statutory records.
  • Address and resolve ongoing client payroll and benefits queries through designated contacts.
  • Handle additional payroll-related tasks as they arise.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll tax matters within the Employment Tax Team.

Candidate Attributes and Skills

  • Proven payroll experience within a payroll bureau environment, preferably with familiarity in Quantum, EuropayX, and Sage Micropay software.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a comparable role.
  • Possession of an IPASS qualification is desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of PAYE, including Benefit in Kind (BIK), and PRSI regulations.
  • Experience with ROS and EFT procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, along with an interest in artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Ability to consistently meet strict deadlines and demonstrate ownership over responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and a sense of accountability.
