Role Overview
We seek a dynamic, ambitious Payroll Coordinator to autonomously oversee all payroll department operations. The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive payroll knowledge while maintaining a relaxed and approachable personality to seamlessly integrate with our team.
Primary Duties
- Administer payroll processes for over 300 employees.
- Manage weekly and monthly payroll computations and distributions.
- Apply federal and New York State regulations concerning payroll and lawful deductions.
- Delineate processes for exempt and non-exempt employee classifications.
- Calculate and manage commission-based payroll for sales personnel and movers.
- Evaluate driver trip closing reports and process payroll accordingly.
- Prepare and submit census reports relevant to health and 401(k) benefits.
- Input and handle garnishments, benefits, and related payroll requests.
- Monitor and adjust employees’ paid time off, hours worked, and payroll changes.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience handling payroll internally is essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
- Familiarity with Paychex and Paychex Time and Attendance systems is advantageous.
- Experience managing commission-based compensation structures.
- Capability to multitask effectively and operate well under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake additional duties as assigned.
