Position Overview and Responsibilities
- Manage client claims daily, ensuring equitable, prompt, and precise claim handling compliant with federal liability regulations and contracts.
- Act as the key liaison for clients by balancing empathy with strict legal adherence, protecting client rights along with company interests.
- Examine claims through thorough review of documentation, photographs, bills of lading, contracts, and inspection findings.
- Engage directly with clients to gather information, clarify issues, and set realistic expectations.
- Develop detailed liability analyses aligned with federal legal standards, including the Carmack Amendment and established valuation agreements.
- Partner with dispatch, foremen, and warehouse teams to verify and confirm document accuracy.
- Identify accountable parties responsible for customer inconveniences.
- Maintain precise records of claims, supporting documents, and proposed settlement offers within the claims management system.
- Construct resolution proposals balancing contractual liability constraints and goodwill gestures when appropriate.
- Ensure all claims reach resolution within designated deadlines to prevent escalations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with capability to de-escalate challenging customer situations.
- Familiarity with moving industry liability frameworks such as RVP, FVP, and Carmack Amendment.
- Keen analytical and detail-oriented mindset for critical evaluation of claim materials.
- Experience collaborating across departments including operations, dispatch, and finance.
- Proficient in drafting clear, professional settlement documentation and correspondence.
Schedule Details
- Working hours are from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.
- Workdays span Sunday through Thursday.
- Days off are Friday and Saturday.
