About The Role

Become a vital part of The Shoe Group by ensuring accurate and prompt payroll processing for our nationwide team. We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Officer to join our support office located in Gillman, South Australia.

Reporting directly to the Payroll & Compliance Manager, you'll manage the payroll process across the company while delivering excellent service to team members and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing throughout The Shoe Group.
  • Verify and review employee time and attendance information.
  • Update and maintain payroll records, including onboarding new employees and recording employment changes.
  • Process approved allowances, deductions, and adjustments to payroll.
  • Investigate any discrepancies related to payroll and respond to pay-related inquiries.
  • Assist managers with issues concerning timesheets and attendance records.
  • Maintain thorough payroll documentation and employee records.
  • Apply appropriate Awards and comply with payroll regulations and requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payroll procedures and administration.
  • Collaborate closely with People & Culture, Retail, Distribution Centre, and other support teams.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in payroll administration and processing.
  • Familiarity with payroll and time and attendance systems; Dayforce experience is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong accuracy skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and capability to manage time effectively.
  • Customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset.

Additional Information

Experience working with multi-site, rostered, or retail payroll environments will be considered a strong advantage.
