About the Role

Join a leading not-for-profit organization located in Box Hill, Victoria, where your expertise in payroll can help drive meaningful community change. This full-time ongoing position operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a hybrid working model. The role involves managing accurate and punctual fortnightly payroll processing, ensuring compliance, and providing support across Victoria.

Responsibilities

  • Process precise fortnightly payrolls encompassing employee movements, salary alterations, terminations, and other events, preferably using Dayforce software.
  • Maintain payroll data, ensuring timely and correct processing of timesheets, leave applications, and payroll adjustments within deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to payroll regulations such as PAYG, superannuation, FBT, and long service leave; prepare and assist in statutory reporting including STP and ATO obligations.
  • Coordinate with Workers Compensation procedures.
  • Generate and reconcile payroll reports including superannuation, taxes, and deductions; contribute to month-end, year-end, and audit activities.
  • Deliver responsive and professional assistance to employees and managers on payroll inquiries and processes.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to payroll processes in collaboration with People & Culture, Finance, and IT departments.

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling end-to-end payrolls in a complex, award-based setting with sound knowledge of applicable legislation including PAYG, superannuation, workers' compensation, and FBT.
  • Familiarity with Dayforce or similar payroll systems, particularly in pay rule setups, leave accruals, termination processing, and report generation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formula-driven reconciliations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, capable of engaging stakeholders in People & Culture, Finance, and IT.
  • Alignment with the values and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society, maintaining confidentiality and a customer-centric approach when handling payroll matters.
