About the Role
Join VetPartners Australia and New Zealand as a dedicated Payroll Officer based at Macquarie Park, NSW. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing payroll for over 270 veterinary clinics, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule. You will report directly to the Payroll Team Leader and engage closely with various teams across locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payroll processes with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll data including employee records, timesheets, and leave balances.
- Promptly investigate and resolve payroll inquiries in a professional manner.
- Generate payroll reports, perform reconciliations, and complete statutory submissions accurately.
- Support adherence to Australian and New Zealand payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist in payroll audits and ensure all payroll procedures comply with legislation.
- Expand knowledge on technical topics such as Superannuation, Long Service Leave, Payroll Tax, STP/PAYG, KiwiSaver, Holidays Act, and employment legislation.
- Foster trusted relationships with clinics and support office teams through responsive, courteous, and solution-oriented customer service.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum three years of payroll experience, preferably in high-volume or multi-site settings.
- Familiarity with Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation and practices.
- Understanding of interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, or employment legislation is advantageous.
- Exceptional focus on accuracy and delivering error-free results on the first attempt.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive learner eager to deepen payroll expertise continuously.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a customer-centric approach.
- Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
- Experience with Micropay and Humanforce payroll systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
