Role Overview
Our client in South Dublin is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the comprehensive payroll operations spanning weekly and monthly cycles. This position involves leading a payroll team and guaranteeing that all payroll processes adhere strictly to Irish legal standards and Revenue guidelines. The Payroll Manager will serve as the primary liaison for payroll-related issues across HR, Finance, and other business units.
Key Duties
- Oversee the full payroll workflow including receiving input and approving starters, leavers, rate adjustments, overtime, sick and holiday pay, bonuses, deductions, pension schemes, and benefits.
- Resolve any discrepancies or challenging queries related to payroll, including final payments, pension administration, benefits, and expense reimbursements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members while balancing team workload and coverage.
- Ensure all payroll activities comply with PAYE, PRSI, USC, Irish payroll laws, Revenue filings, and annual requirements.
- Perform reconciliation between payroll records and the general ledger, generate pertinent reports, and support audit processes.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll accuracy, contribute to project initiatives, and help enhance payroll systems.
- Identify opportunities for improving payroll processes and internal controls and lead implementations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of five years’ payroll experience with a background in managing a payroll team.
- Thorough knowledge of Irish payroll practices including PAYE, PRSI, USC, statutory payments, and pensions.
- Proven experience managing both weekly and monthly payroll processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient use of payroll and HRIS systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
Additional Advantages
- Possession of IPASS or Payroll Technician certification.
- Experience handling high-volume payrolls and participating in system upgrades or integrations.
- Skills in reconciling payroll with the general ledger.
