Job description
Overview
Our client located in County Meath is seeking a full-time, permanent Drawing Office Manager / Co-Ordinator. This role involves supporting the Drawing Office and Engineering teams by managing technical drawings related to precast concrete elements and reinforcement detailing.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule all project drawing issue dates.
- Generate and distribute weekly reports on Drawing Office performance, highlighting progress across ongoing projects.
- Monitor and follow up on general arrangement (GA) drawing feedback and approvals from architects and engineers.
- Ensure design team comments are integrated into revised drawings and that these updated drawings are redistributed properly.
- Maintain drawing registers and track revisions carefully.
- Facilitate the exchange of precast concrete and reinforcement drawings between the Drawing Office, Engineering, and Production departments.
- Proactively communicate with architects, engineers, and consultants to obtain drawing feedback promptly to prevent project delays.
- Keep track of all drawing amendments and inform relevant teams (Production, Quality, Planning) of any updates.
- Assist in the issuance of shop drawings, reinforcement details, and fabrication documents.
- Ensure the Production teams receive the most current approved drawings before manufacturing starts.
- Support preparation of drawing packages for both manufacturing and onsite installation.
- Monitor the status of drawings through various approval stages including Issued for Approval, Approved, Issued for Construction, and revisions.
- Help maintain document control systems related to technical drawings and project files.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, architects, and production supervisors to guarantee drawings fulfill project and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain electronic filing systems and drawing databases.
- Assist in verifying consistency between reinforcement schedules and production needs.
- Support coordination efforts spanning Design, Reinforcement Yard, Mould Preparation, and Production Planning.
Candidate Requirements
- Basic knowledge of technical drawings, including GA and reinforcement drawings, as well as construction documentation.
- Experience with drawing software such as Allplan, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Understanding of drawing approval workflows and revision management.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Effective communicator with skills to liaise among architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in precast concrete, reinforcement detailing, construction, or manufacturing settings.
- Familiarity with handling technical drawings, GA drawings, or project documentation is essential.
