About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Manager to join our team at Atlantic Projects Company, located in Limerick. This permanent full-time position operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour break included. The Payroll Manager will oversee all payroll systems and processes and lead a payroll team, reporting directly to the Senior Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage preparation and processing of payrolls occurring at multiple intervals under strict deadlines.
- Supervise weekly and monthly payroll operations for both Ireland and the UK.
- Coordinate bank transfers for employee payments as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll runs by applying appropriate controls, securing approvals, and maintaining proper documentation and reports in both physical and digital formats.
- Stay informed on payroll tax regulations and enforce compliance within the organization.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams to develop and enhance a fully integrated payroll platform promoting continuous process improvements.
- Provide accurate and prompt reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
- Support and mentor payroll staff members and manage the timekeeping process.
- Work with HR on pension scheme administration and necessary amendments.
- Help maintain Life Assurance and Health Benefits for monthly paid employees in conjunction with HR.
- Calculate redundancy payments as required.
- Administer employee expense reimbursements for Ireland and handle relevant reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Revenue & HMRC obligations, including payroll deductions, year-end processing, and issuance of P60s for UK employees.
- Coordinate with accounting teams for payroll item recording, reconciliation, and preparation of financial support documents.
- Collaborate with HR on employee, payroll, or benefit-related matters.
- Complete statutory reporting requirements for the UK and Ireland.
- Generate and analyze reports to support audits.
- Conduct periodic site visits to advance payroll initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Develop and maintain process manuals for payroll positions.
- Implement and maintain Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental systems compliant with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 standards and similar.
- Ensure adherence to SOX reporting standards.
- Manage Revenue Administration and Financial Reporting for assignments in the USA.
- Administer pensions for the CWPS plan.
