Payroll Clerk

About the Position

We are seeking a Payroll Clerk based in the West Midlands, responsible for overseeing complete payroll cycles for a large employee base. The role offers a salary range from £32,000 to £38,000 and includes maintaining accurate payroll records, managing employee onboarding and departures, and resolving payroll inquiries. This full-time contract position requires expertise in ERP software and experience handling high-volume payrolls. The role is suited for individuals with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines within a structured payroll environment located in Birmingham.

Primary Duties

• Execute payroll processing accurately and within established deadlines.
• Keep detailed and updated records of employee payroll data.
• Administer payroll updates such as new hires and terminations promptly and correctly.
• Respond to employee payroll questions with timely and precise answers.
• Support payroll reporting efforts and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in payroll records efficiently to maintain accuracy.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end payroll in a high-volume context.
• Proficiency using ERP systems for payroll management.
• Current knowledge of payroll-related legislation.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-moving work setting.
