Role Overview
We are looking for a driven Payroll Administrator to join our Education Specialist Team, managing payroll for a range of schools. This position demands a well-organised, quality-conscious individual who thrives on meeting deadlines and contributing to a supportive team dynamic, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exemplary service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer monthly payrolls for several clients with attention to detail.
- Oversee the full payroll cycle, including pension processing and submissions to Teachers Pensions and Local Government pension schemes.
- Work closely with clients to maintain accurate employee data, building strong relationships and delivering outstanding service.
- Keep detailed records and maintain a rigorous document control system for audit readiness and compliance.
- Stay informed on company policies and tax legislation relevant to payroll to guarantee compliance.
- Prepare month-end journals and reports for accounting and audit requirements.
- Handle Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) submissions punctually and accurately.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working within a bureau or similar environment managing payroll for multiple clients, especially in accounting practices or professional services.
- Competence in producing and interpreting payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and pension calculations; capable of preparing payslips and year-end documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate payroll regulations and procedures to clients and address their concerns professionally.
- Strong attention to detail ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in task completion.
- Thorough knowledge of HMRC regulations and Pension Auto Enrolment requirements with an ability to prioritise tasks across multiple clients.
Additional Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of confidentiality and data protection laws applied to payroll information.
- Proficient IT skills and numerical aptitude, with experience in payroll software; familiarity with BrightPay is a plus though training will be available.
Work Model
This position is hybrid, primarily onsite in Bicester.
