Payroll Administrator - Accountancy Services

About the Role

As a Payroll Administrator in our Accountancy Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment of Four Square employees located across the South Island. Your key tasks will include managing the complete payroll cycle primarily using the PayHero system, processing payroll entries, updating employee information, and addressing payroll-related inquiries. Serving as the primary contact for payroll, you will collaborate closely with store teams to offer practical assistance and direction.

This role is highly administrative, emphasizing strong payroll management. Daily activities include handling payroll data, making employee record updates, maintaining correct documentation, and guaranteeing up-to-date payroll records. The position requires a structured, process-centric approach, proactivity in meeting strict weekly payroll deadlines, and excellent attention to detail.

About You

• At least two years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within a medium-sized company.
• Thorough knowledge of New Zealand payroll laws and compliance standards.
• Experience in recognizing and resolving payroll compliance challenges, including interaction with Inland Revenue.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Confidence in addressing payroll questions and delivering practical support to stakeholders and customers.
• Past involvement in process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency.
• Proficient with payroll software; familiarity with PayHero is highly desirable.
