Role Overview
We are inviting an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our well-established and expanding payroll bureau team in Ipswich. The position involves managing an interesting and varied client portfolio who operate on weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll schedules across different sectors, ensuring that no two workdays are alike.
Responsibilities
- Preparing payroll runs weekly and monthly under supervision.
- Collecting payroll-related data from clients in various formats.
- Managing online client banking processes.
- Applying payroll changes such as tax codes, bonuses, and pay rates within deadlines.
- Responding to queries from clients, employees, and regulatory bodies.
- Administering pension auto-enrolment schemes.
- Calculating statutory payments including holiday pay, SMP, SSP, and SPP.
- Processing new starters and employee leavers.
- Loading BACS payments accurately.
- Conducting end-of-month and year-end payroll submissions.
- Preparing and issuing P45 and P60 documents.
- Generating and submitting reports to HMRC.
- Distributing payslips to employees and payroll summaries to clients.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven payroll experience within a bureau, outsourced environment, or internal payroll function.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong organizational skills for handling multiple payrolls concurrently.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Commitment to accuracy and timely payroll processing.
- A proactive team player eager to expand payroll expertise.
- Experience with payroll software systems is required. Familiarity with Employment Hero is beneficial but not mandatory as training is available.
