Job description
Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administration Specialist to join our client’s team in a permanent role based in Hamburg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently prepare the monthly payroll accounting for Germany ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with external payroll service providers to guarantee correct and timely payroll processing.
- Review, verify, and approve payroll-related data before and after processing runs.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees, managers, and external providers for all payroll-related queries.
- Maintain and ensure the quality of all employee and compensation master data in SAP S/4HANA.
- Support international employees and expatriates including assistance with tax and social security matters.
- Generate reports, analyses, and evaluations for HR and Finance departments.
- Work closely with local and international stakeholders within the HR organization.
- Analyze current processes and actively contribute to the development and standardization of payroll procedures.
- Participate in system, digitalization, and HR-related projects.
Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience in payroll, compensation accounting, or personnel administration.
- Experience managing payroll preparations in cooperation with external payroll providers.
- Knowledgeable in German income tax and social security law.
- Experienced with international staff and ideally expatriates.
- Proficient with SAP S/4HANA.
- Fluent in German and good English skills due to international leadership and interfaces.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for creating structure, optimizing processes, and taking ownership.
