Role Overview
As a Payroll Associate within our Business Services Outsourcing (BSO) team, you will manage payroll services for a client portfolio representing nearly 1,000 employees. You will be responsible for compliant payroll processing, including PAYE and NIC adherence, starter and leaver data entry, calculating statutory payments, and distributing payslips accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payrolls for multiple clients handling approximately 1,000 employees.
- Process employee starters, leavers, benefits, and allowances within payroll systems.
- Calculate final payments, statutory pay, and prepare related documentation such as P45s.
- Generate payroll reports and ensure prompt salary payments.
- Lodge FPS and EPS reports to HMRC in a timely manner.
- Respond effectively to client inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Manage correspondence with HMRC and assist with BACS payment uploads.
- Perform quality audits on payroll transactions and maintain administrative records.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in payroll delivery and management functions.
- Solid working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance Contributions, and payroll legislation.
- Preferably hold a CIPP qualification such as Payroll Technician Certificate or completion of the first year of the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management; relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll tasks and deadlines effectively.
