Job description
Position Overview
Join our Finance team as a Payroll Accountant working full-time in one of our offices located in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, or Munich.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently preparing and processing monthly payroll for a defined employee group.
- Managing payroll reporting and certification duties accurately.
- Serving as the primary contact for employees, social insurance institutions, and authorities regarding tax and social security matters.
- Generating reports and statistics, as well as posting monthly payroll transactions and reconciling accounts.
- Handling company benefits such as bonuses, occupational pension schemes, and monetary advantages.
- Applying tax assessments on benefits according to relevant tax codes (§3, §37b & §40 EStG) and managing monetary benefits for designated employees.
- Contributing to audits and year-end tax closings, including processing vacation accruals.
- Administering tax processes relating to employee secondments, both domestic and international, and coordinating with colleagues abroad, particularly in the UK.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completed vocational training as a tax clerk, ideally with additional qualification as a payroll accountant or payroll specialist.
- Demonstrated professional experience in payroll accounting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax law, social security regulations, and employment law.
- Preferably skilled in payroll software DATEV LODAS and tax program CITAX.
- Proficient and confident in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Fluent German and good command of English communication skills.
- Independent, well-organized work style with analytical abilities and a strong affinity for numbers.
