About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Pattern Master specializing in women's western wear, based in Gurugram. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in transforming design concepts into precise patterns and production-ready garments that achieve an optimal fit and finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Create patterns derived from design sketches, technical illustrations, measurements, and sample garments.
- Handle a variety of clothing types including dresses, tops, shirts, trousers, skirts, coordinated sets, blazers, and jackets.
- Work closely with design teams to ensure garments meet the desired silhouette, fit, and structural requirements.
- Provide guidance to the sampling team regarding fabric cutting, stitching methods, and garment finishing techniques.
- Participate in fitting sessions to detect fitting concerns and implement pattern modifications.
- Develop and maintain standard blocks and graded patterns that are approved across all sizes.
- Consider fabric characteristics such as shrinkage, elasticity, draping, grain alignment, and print placement during pattern development.
- Complete production patterns by adding accurate seam allowances, notches, grainlines, and labels for all components.
- Collaborate with production teams to promptly address any fit or construction issues within project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in pattern making specifically for women’s western apparel.
- Deep understanding of garment construction principles, body measurements, fitting techniques, and size grading processes.
- Competent in manual pattern development; familiarity with CAD pattern making systems is a plus.
- Experienced with various woven and stretch fabric types and their pattern implications.
- Adept at interpreting design details and providing feasible construction recommendations.
- Strong meticulousness and excellent communication skills to juggle multiple styles simultaneously.
Additional Information
This is a full-time role located onsite at Gurugram, Haryana. We prefer candidates with over seven years of relevant experience. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
