Role Overview
The Pattern Master position is a full-time, on-premise role located in Madurai. This role entails crafting, developing, and grading garment patterns that guarantee a precise fit and fulfill technical requirements. Key daily responsibilities include interpreting design sketches and technical packs, drafting patterns either manually or via CAD software, and refining these patterns based on sample and fit assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grade patterns for various garments to ensure accurate fitting and technical conformity.
- Analyze design sketches and technical packs to create detailed pattern drafts using manual or computerized methods.
- Modify patterns following sample trials and fitting sessions to optimize garment fit and appearance.
- Collaborate with sampling, cutting, and production departments to assure that patterns are viable for mass manufacturing and meet quality benchmarks.
- Evaluate garment construction elements and propose enhancements to maximize fabric utilization.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of pattern-making procedures and technologies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in pattern making, grading, and fit assessment for woven and knit garments.
- Experienced with pattern-making tools and preferably skilled in CAD platforms such as Lectra or Optitex.
- Comprehensive understanding of garment construction, fabric characteristics, and apparel production processes for technical garments.
- Capable of accurately interpreting design sketches, technical specs, and measurement data with meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player with effective communication abilities to coordinate with design, sampling, and production teams.
- Previous experience as a Pattern Master or in a similar pattern development role within the garment manufacturing sector.
- Preferably holds formal education such as a diploma in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Garment Technology, or related disciplines.
- Dedicated to quality assurance with a problem-solving approach and openness to adopting new technologies and methodologies in pattern creation.
