Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. This role requires overseeing the production of all pastry and bakery items ensuring high standards across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. The successful candidate will lead a creative pastry team and work closely with material sourcing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage production operations for all pastry and bakery items, ensuring timely and quality preparation and delivery across the hotel’s food and beverage sections.
- Motivate and inspire the pastry team to foster innovation and creativity, acknowledging their contributions towards operational success.
- Regularly sample and assess all pastry and bakery offerings served throughout the venue, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with the Materials Manager to source the finest seasonal ingredients for product excellence.
- Oversee food quality standards in every outlet and event while assisting in developing specifications for menu items.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience as a Pastry Chef or four years as an Assistant Pastry Chef within hotel environments, preferably with exposure to global luxury brands.
- Formal kitchen production certifications specializing in pastry arts.
- Strong knowledge and experience in kitchen management and menu planning.
- Thorough understanding of kitchen hygiene and health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with computer applications including MS Office, email communications, and recipe maintenance systems.
