Role Overview

The Parts Associate plays a vital role in managing the sourcing and procurement of aftermarket and used parts essential for vehicle reconditioning. This position demands comprehensive parts knowledge, familiarity with vendors, and quick yet cost-effective decision-making across multiple sourcing channels to ensure uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure, price, and order aftermarket and used parts for a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Analyze various vendor options including aftermarket suppliers and used part providers to optimize cost, quality, and availability.
• Oversee the complete parts ordering lifecycle from procurement through receiving, verification, and inventory organization.
• Proactively address issues such as backorders, substitutions, and discrepancies.
• Keep accurate records of parts using inventory and ordering systems.
• Ensure timely parts delivery to production teams to meet reconditioning service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor inventory and detect any shortages or risks that could impact production.
• Establish and nurture relationships with aftermarket vendors and suppliers including recyclers and salvage networks.
• Seek opportunities to reduce parts costs by improving sourcing strategies and vendor selection.
• Assist in refining and standardizing parts procurement processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in automotive parts desk operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of aftermarket and used parts ecosystems, including recyclers and alternative sourcing channels preferred.
• Experience handling high-volume parts ordering in production or retail settings.
• Proven ability to quickly and accurately source parts from multiple vendors and systems.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle components and compatibility of parts.
• Excellent judgment balancing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
• High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in orders and parts receipt.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving incorrect parts, delays, or returns.
• Familiarity with parts catalog and order management software such as CDK or Reynolds.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G2) with a clean driving record.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Additional Preferences

• Experience with high volume reconditioning or multi-location operations.
• Skills in vendor negotiation and pricing.
• Exposure to inventory planning and procurement strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range of $20 to $30 per hour.
