Job description

Company Overview

Fitness Passport is committed to making fitness accessible to more people to encourage active and healthier lifestyles. Founded in 2006, the organization operates a corporate health and fitness program that collaborates with public sector bodies, corporate employers, and leading fitness centers throughout New Zealand and Australia. It provides members with comprehensive access to a broad spectrum of gyms and wellness amenities.

Position Summary

As part of Fitness Passport's expanding presence across New Zealand, this newly created role in their small but dynamic New Zealand team offers significant potential for personal growth. The Partnership Development Representative acts as the initial point of contact for employers and fitness venues that could benefit from the corporate wellness program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop targeted lists of potential employer partners, focusing not only on size and industry but also considering where their employees actually live and work.
  • Engage with HR, People & Culture, Wellbeing, and Finance leaders via calls, bespoke emails, and LinkedIn to present the service and arrange discovery meetings for the Account Executive.
  • Assess and qualify potential opportunities thoroughly, focusing on quality over quantity since revenue depends on employee sign-ups, including understanding employers' wellbeing goals and decision-making processes for effective handovers.
  • Expand the fitness facility network by identifying gyms and pools in needed regions, contacting owners and managers, and facilitating partnership developments.
  • Manage inbound leads, maintain accurate information in Salesforce, and communicate market insights with the Marketing, Network, and Commercial teams.

Candidate Profile

  • A strong enthusiasm for fitness and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with various levels of stakeholders including business owners and senior staff.
  • Resilience and a positive mindset, acknowledging that rejection is part of the job and continuing persistently.
  • A genuine eagerness to learn and openness to constructive feedback.
  • Excellent organizational skills balancing high activity levels with maintaining quality.
  • Research-oriented and inquisitive, with the ability to quickly evaluate if an employer fits the program's criteria.
  • Preferably experience in the fitness sector working with gym owners or facility managers.
  • Comfort with technology and adopting new tools such as CRM systems; Salesforce experience is advantageous.
  • Up to two years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles; experience in SDR/BDR roles, fitness industry, HR, employee benefits, or government sales is beneficial but not mandatory.

Employee Benefits and Culture

Fitness Passport prides itself on a supportive and values-driven culture centered around Collaboration, Growth, Respect, Integrity, and Wellbeing. The company actively promotes wellness and offers a rewards program to encourage healthy lifestyles both within and outside the workplace.

  • Complimentary Fitness Passport membership giving access to thousands of gyms and fitness facilities in New Zealand and Australia.
  • Three paid wellbeing days annually for rest and recovery.
  • Fully remote working setup with opportunities for occasional in-person meetings.
  • Competitive work-from-home allowance to support hybrid work.
  • Additional wellness benefits including fitness challenges and guest speakers.
  • Paid parental leave to support employees and their families.
  • Access to mental health resources including Clear Head and Employee Assistance Programs.
  • Recognition programs with Hero Points that reward employee impact.
  • Regular social gatherings to build team cohesion and celebrate achievements.
