Position Summary
As a Sales Associate, your role involves providing prompt, friendly assistance by actively approaching customers to understand their requirements and offering relevant support. You will need in-depth knowledge of your department’s products, be able to explain features thoroughly, and be familiar with complementary items so you can promote complete project solutions. Greeting, engaging, and thanking every customer professionally, as well as providing basic service in neighboring departments, are key expectations. The role centers on exceptional customer care and identifying and addressing customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver customer satisfaction by adhering to Home Depot's GET Model — Greet, Engage, Thank the customer.
- Proactively seek out customers store-wide and guide them to the right merchandise regardless of department.
- Ask open-ended questions to gauge customer projects and skill levels to tailor assistance appropriately.
- Promote additional services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services.
- Discuss product options (good, better, best) and recommend related items/services beyond your department that customers may require.
- Educate customers on the entire scope of their project to facilitate informed purchasing.
- Use empowerment protocols when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain daily stock organization, ensuring all products are signed, displayed neatly, and kept clean.
- Continually update product knowledge within your department and adjacent ones and seek out learning opportunities proactively.
- Follow all safety and Loss Prevention policies to maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Working Conditions and Requirements
- Physically demanding tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise.

- Warehouse setting that entails exposure to dust, noise, and temperature fluctuations due to frequent door openings.

- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience: 1 to 2 years in retail or trade sectors is advantageous.
