Packaging Operator

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Packaging Operator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Tipperary, Ireland. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that finished products are securely and precisely packaged in alignment with strict regulatory and quality standards within a dynamic, compliance-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to all workplace safety and environmental protocols.
• Promptly report any issues concerning safety, quality, machinery, or materials to supervising personnel.
• Operate, oversee, and monitor packaging machinery to guarantee products meet detailed specifications.
• Prepare packaging lines including setup, clearance, and changeovers efficiently and accurately.
• Verify accuracy and availability of all necessary packaging materials, such as labels, cartons, and inserts.
• Conduct thorough inspections of packaged goods to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory expectations.
• Accurately document all production activities and data in real-time.
• Maintain detailed production logs covering downtime, output, and noted deviations.
• Support initiatives such as new product launches and packaging trials as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Warehouse to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area by consistently practicing a 'clean as you go' policy.
• Engage in routine cleaning and upkeep of packaging equipment.
• Contribute toward achieving daily and weekly packaging targets.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address and resolve packaging challenges.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs such as Lean manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
• Complete all mandatory training and ensure ongoing compliance with training standards.
• Assist in investigation processes and corrective actions related to any deviations or non-conformances.
• Perform tasks assigned by supervisors as necessary.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Previous experience in manufacturing or packaging roles, ideally within regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to following established procedures accurately.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is advantageous.
• Effective communication and collaborative team skills.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
• Willingness and ability to work on a shift basis as required.
