About the Role
Join a passionate team dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors at a picturesque Retirement Community in Carleton Place, Ottawa Valley. This full-time overnight housekeeping role includes competitive pay and benefits, team meals, vacation, sick leave, and incentive premiums. Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to detailed cleaning schedules spanning daily to monthly routines.
- Perform floor care including dry and wet mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting as required.
- Manage emergency housekeeping tasks promptly following incidents.
- Maintain cleanliness of both movable and fixed furnishings—dusting, spot cleaning, polishing, and replacing soiled items.
- Empty and sanitize ashtrays and waste baskets, ensuring proper garbage disposal.
- Organize and inspect furnishings, reporting any defects to supervision.
- Clean and disinfect all types of bathrooms, replenish supplies, wash windows and mirrors.
- Prepare suites for new occupants by performing thorough cleaning after move-outs.
- Handle laundry duties including washing, folding, ironing, and delivery.
- Implement and uphold stringent infection control protocols, escalating measures during outbreaks.
- Lead emergency supervisory duties overnight, following approved fire and emergency plans to safeguard community members.
- Keep accurate records and communicate findings to Building Services Manager to enhance community support.
- Collaborate closely with management to meet needs of current and prospective residents.
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Clear communication abilities with peers and supervisors.
- Strong time management skills and capacity to work independently.
- Team-oriented mindset with understanding of broader operational priorities.
- Physical capability to bend, stretch, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Competency in operating commercial laundry and cleaning equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Up-to-date Safety 24-7 online training completion.
- Experience in housekeeping preferred.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.

- Compensation ranges from $18.42 to $19.51 per hour.
