Role Overview
The Selector II plays a crucial part within the warehouse crew, tasked with precisely and efficiently assembling customer orders for shipment. This position demands elevated proficiency, with expectations for quickness, accuracy, and skill in managing more intricate orders.
Key Duties
- Accurately retrieve and assemble products from warehouse storage based on customer orders, utilizing pick sheets, voice-guided systems, or other order fulfillment tools.
- Verify that chosen products meet the correct quantities, quality standards, and product codes.
- Organize selected goods for loading onto delivery trucks promptly and methodically to maximize space.
- Identify and communicate any inventory inconsistencies to supervisors; support cycle counts and inventory updates as necessary.
- Operate material handling machinery such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed pick systems safely and effectively.
- Comply with all safety guidelines and company policies; uphold a tidy and orderly workspace while promptly reporting equipment issues or hazards.
- Support training of new warehouse selectors regarding safe operational procedures and order selection techniques.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues to ensure seamless and productive daily operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in precise and efficient order picking with minimal mistakes.
- Competence operating material handling equipment including electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-picking technology.
- Physical capacity to frequently lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Strong meticulousness and accuracy when selecting and staging customer orders.
- Vigilant approach toward safety protocols and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven capability to cooperate effectively within a team and assist in training newcomers.
Certifications and Education
- Forklift certification is favored.
- Training with voice-directed picking systems is advantageous.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
At least two years of relevant warehouse experience is necessary.
Minimum education
Higher Secondary (Class 12)
