Oracle Database Administrator

Overview

This position calls for thorough expertise in Oracle Single and RAC instances, with responsibility for DR drills and TDE implementation alongside advanced performance tuning of Oracle databases. The role demands hands-on experience with Oracle upgrades, database migrations, installation, and patch management following best practices.

Primary Duties

• Manage Oracle RAC versions 11g, 12c, and 18c, including networking configurations and troubleshooting RAC background processes and issues.
• Upgrade Oracle databases from versions 10g through 18c, perform server-to-server cross-platform migrations, and oversee installations and configurations of Oracle 11g, 12c, and 18c.
• Create databases tailored to specific requirements, handle user role management, and routinely apply PSU patches on Oracle databases.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to allocate resources ensuring database availability and optimal performance.
• Monitor database systems proactively to maintain continuous service operation and manage multiple RDBMS on large-scale environments.
• Perform database performance tuning and security implementations, including Oracle Vault and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
• Manage backup and recovery operations through RMAN, including export and import functions as per client needs.
• Demonstrate problem-solving aptitude and be a proactive self-starter, with capacity planning capabilities to foresee future customer benefits.
• Possess foundational knowledge of other databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and IBM DB2.
• Availabilities for 24/7 support including weekend duties as required by client demands.

Qualifications

• Degree in BE, BTech, BSc in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.
• Oracle OCA and OCP certification preferred.
