Role Overview

This Oracle Database Administrator position, based in the United Arab Emirates, requires delivering expert database management and consulting services remotely. The role involves working with complex Oracle database environments including versions 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c. Key Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases ensuring stable and high-performing environments across multiple versions.
• Provide hands-on support for Oracle Engineered Systems such as Oracle Database Appliance and Exadata.
• Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades and migrations, including complex platform transitions.
• Diagnose and optimize database performance to maintain efficient operations.
• Manage backup and recovery procedures leveraging RMAN expertise.
• Implement and maintain high availability solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and related technologies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Apply system administration skills on at least two operating systems like Linux/OEL, Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX.
• Support consulting initiatives including implementations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure challenges.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and reliably meet project timelines.
• Draft and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Apply analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges effectively.
• Collaborate within distributed teams and contribute positively to a fast-moving consulting environment.
• Be available occasionally outside normal business hours for critical support.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Over 10 years of professional experience as an Oracle DBA with extensive hands-on expertise in Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Oracle Engineered Systems, especially Oracle Database Appliance or Exadata.
• Proven track record in upgrading databases to Oracle 19c.
• Extensive experience in complex migrations and Oracle database implementations.
• Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced capabilities in Oracle database performance tuning.
• Expert in RMAN including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, and compression techniques.
• Practical experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control for monitoring and managing databases.
• System administration proficiency on at least two platforms among Linux/OEL, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, including creating precise technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude with a practical mindset.
• Ability to provide realistic work estimates, manage commitments, and ensure deadline adherence.
• Experience working in fast-paced consulting settings, including occasional after-hours support.
• Effective collaboration skills for distributed teamwork.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle database environments is highly advantageous.
• Comfortable working entirely remotely with international clients and teams.
