About West Bay Medicare
West Bay Medicare is a day surgery centre situated in the heart of Doha on the third floor of The Gate Mall. The facility houses 24 clinics spanning major medical specialties alongside a day-case surgical unit featuring three operating theatres. It also provides Dental, Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation services. The center is dedicated to delivering high-standard treatments and compassionate care, ensuring patients receive prompt access to expert physicians, precise diagnoses, and effective treatments within a supportive environment.
Role Overview
This full-time position based in Doha, Qatar requires an Ophthalmologist to deliver comprehensive eye healthcare. The responsibilities include conducting thorough eye examinations, diagnosing various ocular diseases, and crafting personalized treatment plans. The role involves executing and overseeing medical and surgical procedures such as cataract surgeries and laser treatments. Collaborating closely with optometrists, physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals is essential to guarantee integrated patient care.
Key Duties
- Perform detailed eye exams and identify ocular conditions.
- Manage and conduct ocular medical and surgical interventions, including cataract and laser procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated healthcare.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records.
- Advise patients and families on treatment strategies and preventative eye care.
- Adhere to clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent), completed ophthalmology residency, and board certification or eligibility.
- Experience in general medicine pertinent to ophthalmic health.
- Expertise in diagnosing and treating diverse eye diseases.
- Proficiency in optometric practices including refraction and vision assessment.
- Competent in ocular surgery, including microsurgery and day-case procedures, with strong focus on patient safety.
- Knowledge and experience with laser applications in ophthalmology.
- Authorization or eligibility to obtain medical licensure to practice in Qatar.
- Excellent clinical judgment, detail-oriented approach, and effective communication skills.
- Commitment to ethical standards, continuous education, and evidence-based practice.
- Previous experience in a multi-specialty surgical or clinical center is advantageous; fluency in English is necessary, Arabic proficiency is a bonus.
