Position Overview
The role of Operations Staff involves supporting daily logistics functions across Blue Dart's Service Centres, Hubs, Warehouses, and Processing Units. Primary responsibilities include accurate handling, sorting, scanning, and movement of shipments ensuring operational productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained. The position demands compliance with standard procedures and represents the Blue Dart brand with professionalism and discipline.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, segregate, and process inbound and outbound shipments precisely.
- Conduct shipment scanning, tagging, bagging, and labeling aligned with operational protocols.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments safely ensuring proper handling.
- Facilitate timely transfer of shipments through operational stages to meet service timelines.
- Support shipment reconciliation and verify manifests accurately.
- Perform data entry and maintain operational records using designated systems.
- Verify shipment labels and documents, report any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist Shift In-charges in daily targets and operational tasks, including peak periods.
- Maintain clean and organised workstations ready for processing activities.
- Adhere strictly to safety, security, and quality policies, including correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain professionalism through grooming standards, punctuality, wearing uniforms, and exhibiting discipline.
- Contribute to teamwork, participate in operational briefings, safety meetings, and support continuous improvements.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Minimum educational qualification: 10th Standard pass; higher education is advantageous.
- Freshers or candidates with up to two years of experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, courier services, manufacturing, or retail.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Physically fit to handle standing, walking, lifting, and shipment movement throughout shifts.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Basic English literacy for reading instructions and labels.
- Fundamental computer skills including handheld scanner or mobile application use.
- Positive mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in teams.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in shipment sorting, scanning, tagging, and labeling operations.
- Experience or ability to safely load and unload shipments.
- Basic data entry accuracy and documentation maintenance.
- Usage of barcode scanners and mobile devices for shipment processing.
- Strong operational discipline, customer focus, teamwork, attention to detail, integrity, time management, and safety awareness.
