Job description
Overview
The Senior Security Executive is responsible for maintaining the physical security and safety of shipments and facilities within the assigned region. This role reports to the Regional Security Manager and involves managing shipments, conducting investigations on loss or theft, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and coordinating with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard the physical security of shipments and various regional facilities such as service centers and operational areas.
- Investigate incidents of shipment loss, damage, pilferage, theft, and misuse of credit cards within the region.
- Maintain and update the SHIELD online security module promptly and ensure timely resolution of investigation cases.
- Implement safety measures for handling high-value shipments, including physical handovers, pre-alerts, shipment monitoring, and customer education on packaging protocols.
- Perform security screenings on pickups to identify dangerous or prohibited goods.
- Carry out security checks on shipments received from cash customers.
- Conduct security verifications for new branch clients before contract initiation.
- Oversee the physical security of all Blue Dart facilities within the assigned region.
- Ensure electronic security equipment such as CCTV, access control, and fire alarms are properly maintained and operational.
- Conduct regular security audits across the region.
- Perform pre-employment and police verifications for all new hires and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs).
- Provide security-related orientation and training for all regional employees.
- Oversee electrical and fire safety audits and facilitate safety training, emergency response drills, and mock fire safety exercises for branch personnel.
- Communicate safety policies and procedures effectively to all employees in the region.
- Maintain liaison with regulatory authorities and local police to ensure smooth delivery and network vehicle operations during daytime.
- Administer ongoing training sessions for security guards across the region.
Performance Metrics
- Ensure shipment security with metrics including damaged shipments percentage and counts of stolen or pilfered shipments.
- Monitor and reduce the number of theft or pilferage cases involving high-value shipments.
- Achieve timely closure and updates of security-related cases in SHIELD.
- Maintain adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) monitored by non-compliance indices.
- Achieve safety coverage targets for locations including safety drills, audits, security training, and electrical inspections.
- Comply with performance management timelines and company guidelines.
