Role Overview
The Warehouse Operations Manager (Deputy General Manager) position based in Dublin is pivotal in managing day-to-day distribution center operations. You will oversee warehouse performance, inventory control, and administrative functions. Collaborating with the General Manager and leadership team, you will drive operational excellence, continuous enhancement, and ensure a positive employee environment. Additionally, you will deputize for the General Manager as necessary, ensuring seamless site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations to meet service levels, maintain stock accuracy, and fulfill operational targets.
- Support and mentor managers and teams balancing immediate tasks with future-focused initiatives.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, learning, safety, and wellness through coaching and collaborative leadership.
- Coordinate staffing and resource planning in line with operational demands.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts adopting Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other best practices.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety standards, company policies, audits, and legal requirements.
- Represent the warehouse at business events, employee forums, and audits, along with deputizing for the General Manager when required.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-moving distribution, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environment, preferably within food distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to develop teams, nurture growth, and promote collaboration and accountability.
- Strong dedication to health, safety, and wellbeing, fostering a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
- Highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities calmly in a dynamic setting.
- Experience in operational performance management, service delivery, budgeting, stock control, and continuous improvement programs.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship-building across diverse stakeholders and teams.
- Proficient in operational systems and technology with a keen interest in learning new digital tools.
