Job Overview
The Operations Control Center is seeking a committed individual to manage the monitoring of both international and domestic shipments, ensuring seamless progress throughout the entire logistics chain. The role demands proactive tracking against crucial operational milestones, early detection of shipment delays or issues, coordination with various carriers and internal teams, and swift implementation of corrective measures to reduce service interruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee shipment movement from origin to final delivery leveraging carrier portals and tracking tools.
- Track shipments according to established operational milestones including pickup, departure, customs clearance, transshipment, arrivals, warehouse handling, and delivery.
- Identify delays, exceptions, and risks promptly and escalate concerns to appropriate operational units.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, airlines, transport providers, warehouses, and internal departments to swiftly resolve shipment issues.
- Maintain timely and accurate updates of all shipment milestones within the tracking systems.
- Investigate and address shipment anomalies implementing corrective actions to limit service disruptions and avoid future occurrences.
- Communicate shipment updates and recovery plans consistently with sales teams and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators, and client-specific delivery standards.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing shipment statuses, milestone achievement, delays, exceptions, and recovery efforts.
- Offer insights to sales and management teams during operational disruptions including transportation setbacks, customs delays, weather impact, and capacity issues.
- Analyze shipment data trends and recommend enhancements to boost operational efficiency, visibility, and punctual delivery performance.
- Comply fully with company policies, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum educational qualification of ITE or higher.
- Prior experience in logistics, shipment tracking, or supply chain management is beneficial.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Power BI and Google Sheets is an advantage.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-moving operations environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
