About the Role

Veolia is searching for a seasoned Operations Engineer to serve as the nexus between the Operations and Maintenance teams and the Project Management Office focused on significant wastewater renewal and capital projects in Wellington. This role centers on utilizing your wastewater operational expertise to influence and guide major infrastructure projects from early design phases through commissioning, ensuring practical and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bridge technical collaboration between Veolia’s operational staff and client project teams.
  • Examine project designs and specifications considering operational efficiency, maintenance feasibility, and regulatory compliance.
  • Offer insightful technical guidance while identifying potential operational risks.
  • Represent operational prerequisites across stakeholders including internal teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Communicate complex technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Engage in project planning activities including risk assessments, operational preparedness, and commissioning phases.
  • Guarantee that new and upgraded infrastructure assets are safe, viable, and ready for active use.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive hands-on operational and engineering background in wastewater treatment.
  • Strong capability for sound technical judgement and confident decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing diverse stakeholders and simplifying technical knowledge for varied audiences.
