About the Role
Join Darling Downs Health as an Operational Services Officer (Groundsperson) based in Miles, Queensland, where you will play a vital role in creating safe and inviting outdoor environments that enhance the experience of patients, visitors, and staff. This hands-on position involves upkeep and maintenance of grounds and facilities, contributing daily to a welcoming and positive atmosphere within the health service community.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure gardens, lawns, and external areas are well-maintained, attractive, safe, and support the health service setting.
- Operate and maintain landscaping and groundskeeping equipment safely; perform minor repairs to keep resources functional and available.
- Contribute to site cleanliness and presentation through waste handling, exterior cleaning, and other tidiness activities.
- Work collaboratively within the team to meet operational goals and uphold a supportive, positive workplace culture.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience related to grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or turf care.
- Competence in safe operation, upkeep, and minor repairs of grounds equipment.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety standards, safe manual handling, and risk awareness.
- Possession of a current C Class Driver Licence.
- A proactive approach with strong teamwork skills.
Additional strengths include holding or working towards a Certificate III in Horticulture and/or skills in pest and weed management.
