Job Overview
Join the Thermo Fisher Scientific team as an Operation Technician within our warehouse operations group located in Singapore. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth, safe, and accurate handling of materials and products in a regulated warehouse environment. Responsibilities include handling goods in ambient, chilled, and cold-temperature storage zones to support product flow and ensure timely delivery to customers, following rigorous quality and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute warehouse functions such as picking, packing, receiving, put-away, replenishment, and staging activities efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and procedural standards to guarantee correct handling and dispatch of products.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Have at least one year of relevant experience in distribution, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated experience handling powered industrial trucks (order pickers, forklifts, pallet trucks).
- Experience in controlled temperature or regulated warehouse environments is beneficial.
- Capable of performing warehouse tasks including inventory movement, shipment preparation, and adhering to SOPs and GDP requirements.
- Exhibit keen attention to detail with the ability to verify product data, labels, quantities, and documentation for accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with warehouse systems, barcode scanners, and electronic inventory devices.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment after completing mandatory training and obtaining authorization.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills important for collaboration with colleagues and supervisory staff.
- Effective prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic warehouse setting, while meeting targets related to productivity, quality, and safety.
- Commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and good material handling practices.
- Flexibility to perform various warehouse duties as operational needs evolve.
Physical and Environmental Working Conditions
- Regular engagement in physical activities such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling materials.
- Lifting and transporting objects within defined safety limits using proper equipment or assistance as needed.
- Work within temperature-controlled spaces including cold storage, with required use of PPE and protective clothing.
- Use of warehouse equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers is expected, subject to completing training.
- Compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and security procedures is mandatory.
- Possible requirement to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or public holidays based on business demand.
Work Schedule
Standard workweek from Monday to Friday.
Additional Information
This role demands adherence to cleanroom standards such as no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, or exposed piercings, with strict grooming rules including facial hair restrictions. Some PPE like safety glasses, gowns, gloves, lab coats, and ear plugs will be necessary. The environment may involve working at heights and handling hazardous or toxic materials.
