Offset Press Operator - Printing

Overview

This role requires hands-on operation of printing presses, specializing in flexographic and offset press technologies. Candidates must have a Master's degree or comparable experience and at least five years in the field. The position demands work onsite in a noisy environment with potential odours, involving physical activity and precision.

Primary Responsibilities

• Mount and adjust plates or cylinders appropriately.
• Prepare and manage production schedules efficiently.
• Fill ink fountains while regulating color and viscosity.
• Plan methods for production processes and estimate associated costs.
• Set up the press and perform slow-speed operation checks for sample quality.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices.
• Monitor ongoing press runs using computerized control consoles to ensure quality standards.
• Remove and clean plates and cylinders at the conclusion of press runs.
• Set up and adjust equipment for in-line binding and finishing.
• Lead the press crew during set up, operation, and shutdown of the press.

Experience and Specialization

• Expertise operating flexographic presses.
• Proficiency with offset press machinery.

• Basic security clearance and criminal record check are required.
