Job description
Role Overview
The Officer - Work Placement will assist in identifying, promoting, and facilitating work placement opportunities for students, integrated within their academic program, while coordinating closely with Partnerships Central Services. The role also entails maintaining a precise and comprehensive database for monitoring and reference of work placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in devising annual plans for employment opportunities for students, in partnership with Central Services.
- Help develop and publicize a current calendar for yearly work placement events and career fairs.
- Coordinate with faculty, Academic Advisors, Outreach and Engagement teams, and Partnerships Central Services to ensure smooth execution of work placement initiatives.
- Facilitate scheduling of recruitment events held on campus.
- Collaborate in creating promotional materials to raise student awareness of placement opportunities with relevant departments.
- Support delivery of orientation sessions and workshops related to work experiences.
- Monitor and track student placements throughout the academic year in alignment with placement plans.
- Coordinate timely interviews between employers and students.
- Guide and respond to students' inquiries through all stages from interviews to internship completion.
- Provide employers with necessary documentation and information about students.
- Maintain an updated and accurate database covering employer, student, and placement details; assist Partnerships Central Services with data input.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration is mandatory.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages is required for effective communication.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, is essential.
- Work experience ranging from none up to two years in work placement or related fields is acceptable.
