Job description
Position Summary
As an Officer in Loss Prevention at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, you will be tasked with safeguarding the property by patrolling all areas, assisting guests with room access, and monitoring security systems including CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. You will be responsible for securing entrances as needed and conducting daily physical inspections to identify hazards.
In emergency situations, you will administer first aid or CPR, respond to accidents by contacting EMS, and support guests and employees. Handling disturbances, resolving complaints, and escorting unauthorized persons off the premises without disrupting operations are crucial duties. You'll be required to document all incidents through comprehensive reports and investigate incidents by gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous patrols of the facility and monitor all security and safety systems reliably.
- Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, emergencies, and alarms by taking appropriate actions.
- Perform thorough hazard inspections daily to maintain a safe environment.
- Manage guest and employee disturbances sensitively and professionally, defusing situations where needed.
- Secure all property entrances and manage external assistance calls as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on Loss Prevention activities and maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials.
- Follow all company policies concerning safety, conduct, and incident reporting.
- Maintain personal appearance and professional behavior, fostering a welcoming environment for guests.
- Comply with quality assurance standards and contribute positively to team efforts.
- Be physically capable to stand, sit, walk for extended durations, lift and handle objects up to 50 pounds unassisted or heavier with assistance, and maneuver across various terrains and confined spaces.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) equivalent.
- No prior experience or supervisory roles required.
- No mandatory license or certification for this role.
