Job description
Role Overview
The Officer - Insurance will contribute to the development and effective oversight of Emirates Global Aluminium's group-wide insurance and risk management programs, supporting corporate risk mitigation and (re)insurance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to departmental policies, systems, and procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy across all operations.
- Assist with the biannual review and updating of the Disaster Recovery Document.
- Support procurement, renewal, and administration of group-wide insurance policies ensuring operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate with insurance parties on-site to facilitate strategic risk transfer decisions aligned with senior management goals.
- Maintain compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, including Loan Covenants adherence.
- Manage the notification process for insurance claims, ensuring precise communication internally.
- Organize claims management workshops for internal teams and maintain detailed claims process documentation.
- Oversee end-to-end claims management cycles, ensuring clear communication between insurance providers and internal stakeholders.
- Offer technical support to loss investigation teams and customers.
- Assist in generating timely, accurate reports to meet company and department standards.
- Recommend and support enhancements in insurance programs, controls, and operational procedures.
- Comply with all safety, quality, and environmental management standards reflective of EGA’s health and safety objectives.
- Fully support internal and external audits including government inspections.
- Address other insurance-related stakeholder requirements as needed.
Authority and Decision-Making
Work is governed by established guidelines and policies with close supervision; decision-making involves adherence to clearly defined procedures and routine review by senior personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferable progression towards professional certifications.
- 0 to 4 years of relevant functional experience.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Competency in data analysis, mining, and reporting.
- Proficient in MS Excel and general MS Office applications.
