Role Overview

We are searching for a motivated and client-focused Ocean Freight Specialist to join our Ocean Freight Import Department at the Perth Station. You will oversee end-to-end shipment management, serving as the primary liaison with customers to deliver smooth service experiences and foster strong business relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all shipment operations including booking, documentation, and coordination of international freight transport.
• Consistently achieve or surpass essential service quality and performance indicators.
• Act as the main customer contact, addressing shipment inquiries, exceptions, complaints, and claims.
• Optimize shipment routing and allocation to meet service commitments while maximizing profitability.
• Prepare precise invoicing and documentation, and promptly resolve any billing disputes.
• Ensure that shipments adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards relevant to commodities and destinations.
• Identify sales opportunities and actively participate in customer visits to support business growth and retention.
• Address day-to-day operational challenges independently and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

Accountabilities

• Ensure proactive management of shipments to deliver excellent customer experiences throughout the shipping process.
• Maximize gross profit and minimize costs for all shipments.
• Resolve operational problems autonomously whenever possible, escalating issues only when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and compliant shipment documentation as per standard operating procedures and customer expectations.
