About the Role
Join a supportive allied health team dedicated to making a meaningful difference for children and young people aged 0-16 and their families in Australia. Work collaboratively within a local team led by experienced leaders, offering flexible, impactful therapy services focused on growth and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct appropriate assessments tailored to each client's needs.
- Manage an occupational therapy caseload including complex cases via a case management approach.
- Assist in selecting and maintaining therapy and assessment resources.
- Create, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized therapy programs aligned with client goals.
- Deliver therapy services in clinic, home, school, and community settings as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with allied health professionals to maximize client outcomes.
- Design and facilitate specialized group programs and parent workshops.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Ensure adherence to current best practices and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
Therapy Program Development
- Conduct initial client appointments and develop goal-oriented plans based on evaluation.
- Create measurable intervention strategies targeting individual support needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals (e.g., speech therapy, psychology) when needed.
- Prepare resources and session activities for home and therapy sessions.
- Develop session plans and conduct visits at schools or homes when suitable.
- Monitor client progress and adjust goals and interventions appropriately.
- Complete reviews and prepare reports as required.
- Assess eligibility for additional services or group programs and include them in therapy plans as appropriate.
Reporting and Documentation
- Document all treatment activities and session notes within 24 hours using the practice management system.
- Provide timely, comprehensive reports to clients, families, health professionals, and funding bodies such as the NDIA.
- Ensure all documentation meets organizational standards and promptly report any client incidents or complaints.
Funding and Compliance
- Align therapy plans with relevant funding mechanisms and review NDIS plans where applicable.
- Assist with accurate invoicing by supplying correct service information.
Professional Development and Organizational Responsibilities
- Engage in team meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions regularly.
- Maintain detailed records per organizational protocols.
- Take advantage of opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and contribute to risk management.
- Foster professional networks and uphold confidentiality and ethical codes.
- Sustain relevant registrations and comply with organizational standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in solution-focused therapy and early intervention techniques.
- Strong commitment to individualized service principles with ability to adapt approaches to diverse client needs.
- Effective engagement with children, families, and external partners.
- Excellent communication, organization, observation, and report writing abilities.
- Capability to work both independently in community settings and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications and Compliance Checks
- Occupational Therapy qualification recognized by relevant authorities.
- Registration with AHPRA and compliance with all necessary registrations.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children or Vulnerable People Check.
- Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle required.
- National Police Check and accredited First Aid certification.
