About Talison Lithium and the Role

Talison Lithium is the premier global producer of lithium minerals, operating the largest high-grade ore body worldwide, and plays a vital part in the clean energy revolution. We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Hygiene Technician to safeguard workplace health by monitoring, assessing, and managing diverse hazards including physical, chemical, radiological, and biological risks, ensuring all activities meet legislative and internal safety standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain both field and laboratory instruments for measuring environmental factors such as noise, heat, light, ventilation, humidity, and airborne contaminants.
• Organize calibration and servicing for all personal protective equipment (PPE) fit testing devices.
• Perform daily health monitoring tasks aligned with the approved Health Monitoring Plan (HMP) to ensure compliance.
• Assist in creating and reviewing key documents including the Health Risk Assessment (HRA), Health Management Plan, Noise Management Plan, and Potable Water Quality Management Plan.
• Input occupational hygiene data promptly into Talison's Hygiene Database and DEMIRS Reporting System (SRS).
• Inform and support all site personnel including contractors on hygiene procedures to surpass compliance requirements.
• Collaborate proactively with Talison management and staff to identify occupational health concerns and recommend risk controls and mitigation strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Proven expertise in occupational hygiene instrumentation and sampling techniques.
• Hands-on experience applying occupational hygiene legislation and standards, particularly under the WHS Act 2020, WHS (Mining) Regulations 2022, and DEMIRS guidelines.
• Familiarity with the DEMIRS Reporting System (SRS) for data management.
• Strong collaboration and engagement skills across diverse workforce groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Accreditation as a Noise Officer in Western Australia.
• Certification as a Mine Air Quality Technician or Mine Air Quality Officer.
• Competency in HPE and RPE fit testing.
• Certification IV in Occupational Hygiene or willingness to attain.
• Internal Auditor qualification or willingness to achieve.
