Job description
Role Overview
Engage as a Nuclear Physics Specialist in a remote, hourly contract position where your expertise will enhance AI-generated nuclear physics content. This involves examining scientific precision, mathematical logic, terminology, and methodological explanations, along with offering detailed written critiques.
Core Duties
- Produce authoritative nuclear physics reference material and prompts covering subjects like radioactive decay, nuclear structure, fission, fusion, radiation interactions, detection technology, shielding, nuclear energy, and safety-conscious scientific interpretation.
- Appraise and rank AI outputs to bolster scientific correctness, accurate physical reasoning, consistent unit use, precise calculations, safety adherence, clarity, and alignment with the user's prompt.
- Identify unsafe or misleading content related to nuclear science and radiation, including fabricated facts, erroneous equations, flawed computations, unsupported assertions, and overconfident interpretations to assure model trustworthiness.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses at least a bachelor's degree in fields such as Physics, Nuclear Physics, Applied Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Science, Engineering Physics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrates advanced English proficiency (minimum C1 level) essential for following guidelines and delivering comprehensive feedback.
- Brings over 3 years of experience within nuclear physics, physics research, radiation science, nuclear engineering, education, technical writing, academic review, or a comparable scientific discipline.
- Exhibits deep comprehension of atomic nuclei behavior, radioactive decay mechanisms, half-life concepts, binding energy, nuclear reactions, radiation types, fission and fusion processes, detection methods, shielding techniques, and radiation safety principles.
- Capable of critically evaluating nuclear physics explanations, stepwise derivations, calculation accuracy, diagrams, experimental insights, and safety claims for factual accuracy and lucidity.
- Skilled in detecting fabricated claims, incorrect formulae, unsafe recommendations, logic errors, unit mismatches, oversimplifications, and unsubstantiated nuclear or radiation information.
- Maintains meticulous attention to units, decay sequences, reaction notations, cross sections, isotope terminology, dose calculations, and underlying physical assumptions.
- Highly dependable, self-motivated, and equipped to sustain consistent output quality within an hourly remote contractor framework spanning various time zones.
- Experience related to AI data training, annotation, scientific quality assurance, academic evaluation, physics content review, or rubric-driven assessments is preferable.
