Role Overview

Engage as a Malayalam Language Specialist working remotely on an hourly contractor basis to review and generate high-quality Malayalam content for AI training. Your role involves evaluating AI-produced Malayalam outputs and creating authoritative reference material. You will analyze language quality focusing on accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural relevance, while providing detailed written critiques. Tasks include identifying errors in meaning, mistranslation, register, ambiguity, logical coherence, and occasionally fact-checking claims. Additionally, produce exemplary rewrites and model responses reflecting best Malayalam writing practices, and assess various AI answers for correctness and overall quality.

Key Duties

• Create AI training prompts and gold-standard Malayalam responses across diverse fields such as general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational contexts.
• Review and rank AI outputs to enhance linguistic fluency, correctness, suitable tone, and cultural accuracy.
• Identify and report unsafe or misleading language, factual inaccuracies, bias, and content violating policies, ensuring robust model performance across uses.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Malayalam or English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or have equivalent professional exposure.
• Have native or near-native command of Malayalam (reading and writing essential).
• Demonstrate strong English abilities (minimum C1 level) to comprehend guidelines and articulate extensive feedback.
• Bring over three years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality assurance, journalism, education, or related language-intensive roles.
• Exhibit profound knowledge of Malayalam grammar, spelling, punctuation, and writing style, capable of explaining linguistic errors and corrections.
• Be skilled in managing various registers (formal/informal), regional dialects of Kerala, and adapting to audiences in India and diaspora communities.
• Maintain sharp attention to subtle semantic shifts, awkward literal translations, hallucinated facts, or culturally inappropriate expressions.
• Be dependable, self-motivated, and consistent, able to produce quality work in a remote, hourly contractor model across different time zones.
• Prior experience in AI data annotation, translation quality assurance, editorial evaluation, or rubric-based review is highly advantageous.
