Role Overview
The Singapore office seeks an immediate hire for a Network Controller role. This position entails overseeing daily operations of the Fugro Data Network, including the Network Control Center (NCC), remote sites, and satellite uplink stations. Responsibilities cover monitoring and ensuring quality control of data collection, distribution, and broadcast processes to maintain minimal downtime. The role requires working on rotating shifts within a 24/7 operational environment and providing customer support during off-hours. Employees receive on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise NCC operations including remote data collection, central computer functions, data distribution, and uplinking, responding promptly to alarms.
- Work rotating shifts within a continuous 24/7 schedule.
- Diagnose and resolve faults utilizing both internal and external support resources.
- Record all alarm incidents and corrective actions taken.
- Carry out data archiving and create plots as necessary.
- Compile system performance data, assisting in generating reports and analyses through tables and graphs.
- Support additions or modifications to NCC or remote site computing and communication equipment.
- Coordinate planned system outages with communication providers and clients to limit service interruptions.
- Help prepare documentation and reports related to the Fugro Data Network.
- Maintain and update NCC operational procedures regularly.
- Recommend operational improvements to increase NCC productivity.
- Deliver appropriate customer support services.
- Respond swiftly to phone calls, faxes, emails, routing communications accordingly.
- Adhere strictly to NCC security protocols and safety guidelines.
- Produce concise memos, emails, and sometimes schematic drawings using standard office software.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent college coursework; a degree in computer networking systems or computer science is preferred.
- Understanding of computer networking and systems integration.
- Proficient computer skills including use of Windows and Red Hat operating systems, along with standard office applications.
